Walking in a staight line....

ME: Drywall dust Free. And very happy with progress.
Recent Adventures: The past few days had me in the hat playing chauffeur,to the boy. His car went into the shop for some major work and will finally be released today. I excepted the garage to take this long but the boy is a bit frustrated by the delay on something that he was told would only take a few hours. Mostly because he felt bad relying on me for transport. I just think he was lucky I wasn't out of town. And I got some good shopping in while in town...
Health: After complaining about my ankle on Tuesday, I got to the medical clinic on Wednesday. No doctor was available at short notice. Instead I chatted with a nurse who recommended the chiropractor - didn't so much ask me to remove my boots let alone my socks! Now, I understand that many people today have real problems with their Sciatic nerve but it seems every malady these days can be explained by that single part of our body. That's twice now I've been diagnosed with Sciatica and twice now the specialist (in the first case the physio and in the second the chiro) has offered another option which when treated fixed the problem. My hip was bursitis and is now completely back to normal. Now my ankle is more likely the fault of a lovely little bone called the talus which was out of place. One quick crack and the pain was completely gone. I've been dancing ever since. Ok not really because the boy keeps reminding me that I need time to let the ligaments heal. Party pooper.
The Farm: The lawn mower finally gave in and started. We are done outside until spring. The kind weather looks as though it will hold for awhile so we may have sometime to clean up any fallen branches with a nice fire. SO the work has moved inside. I tore out the drywall in the office, finishing off the last two walls and ceiling today. The room is on the uppermost floors. Gravity therefore is my friend as I threw the broken bits of drywall out the window, over the roof down to the front yard into the waiting trailer. It was great fun! Almost as fun taking it to the burning pit at the dump tomorrow. After that I will wire up more outlets, new light fixtures and network boxes. I will have a smart office.
The Farm Animals: The aging Muse is dealing with my aging kittens. The black ones are getting more and more aggressive, and the Maine Coon is becoming a bit pissy about it. Literally. He may need more kitty valium. Guinness, meanwhile is happy that the deer are back. She likes to eat their poo. Drives me nuts.
Reading, Watching, Listening: So far in my Holdiay Movie extravaganza, I've watched Home for the Holidays, The Christmas Shoes, The Christmas Blessings, 12 Days of Christmas Eve, Comfort and Joy and Christmas Snow. The Family Stone is next. I'm also starting my first of the sappy Christmas romance novels. But really, it bugs me to no end that writers (editors, publishers....) will take a story, simply change the time of year it's set and print it as a holiday romance. I mean what got me started in the first place was the idea that two strangers stranded by the winter snows can fall in love or that a simple gift given can open a heart. I know it's cheesy but if you know about my first xmas with the boy you know it happens. It's why I love this time of year. To mention Christmas a few times in a story that otherwise has nothing to do with the season is just plain greedy. A horrible malady of my industry.
Work: I'm terribly upset that we lost one of our greatest author to another publisher. Now I'll have to buy her next few books!
SCA: Getting some stuff done for Coronet. We've made plans at Boomtown Pub for dinner that night with a few of the gang since the boy does not do feasts. Anyone is welcome!!! It looks like Estrella is not in the picture this go round. I've decided on new windows for the office and with the work being done on the boy's car, well, I'm quite disappointed but what can you do.
Thinking on: Networking, flooring, paint colours, weekend pastries.
Upcoming: Dentist, Guido getting his paint job fixed, Coronet, Toronto!!! ABRA Lunch and then Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!
PS. for cat lovers - check out Dewey... good book & Meryl Streep is staring in the movie. As for all you cat owners, I think I'm doing pretty good.

Date: 2008-11-15 04:04 pm (UTC)J & L don't wanna host a "party" so close to Christmas because we're doing a New Years party again this year. However I wanted to do a dinner party type thing /w J & L and Delaroche, somewhere 18th-20th? If you are coming for sure I could also see if maybe I could still get tickets to A Christmas Carol at Persephone Theater....and then we can be Christmas-y nerds together. Just sayin'
